Strap on your skates because hell might have just frozen over...I reviewed a piece of film simulation software and LOVED IT?! Yes. Dehancer is the real deal, folks. It's a cinematic film (among others) plugin for Davinci Resolve and a few other video and still photography processors. I've never seen anything like it. As a side note...the real vs simulated film stock comparisons beginning at 15:55 make the Dehancer profiles appear quite flat. The reason for this is due to the true film photos being fully processed whereas the Dehancer footage is essentially RAW. I had to choose between either processing the sample footage to better match the finished film scans, compare the RAW Dehancer profiles to finished film scans, or compare the Dehancer profiles to RAW scanned film with no corrections. I felt it was better to show the processed film images for comparison as the potential of the Dehancer profiles with additional grading (contrast, color, ect.) might be easier visualized.
